All-New Ford Kuga FHEV

INTRODUCING THE all NEW

FORD KUGA FHEV

EFFICENCY

Improved fuel economy over the EcoBlue Hybrid, with Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology, the all-new self-charging Kuga Hybrid has a larger battery that can store more power. It can even drive short distances on pure electric power.

Seamlessly combining a 2.5-litre petrol engine with a battery-powered electric motor and optional AWD, the Kuga Hybrid provides the benefits of an electrified vehicle without the need to plug-in to charge.

Like the other hybrid versions of the Ford Kuga, the system can recapture energy that would normally be lost decelerating.

Technology with a purpose

ALL-NEW FORD KUGA PLUG-IN HYBRID

The Kuga Hybrid uses a self-charging full-hybrid powertrain that enables pure-electric driving capability and combines a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine; electric motor; generator; lithium-ion battery; and a Ford-developed power-split automatic transmission. The Kuga Hybrid will be available later in 2020 with front-wheel drive and Ford Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, delivering from an anticipated 130 g/km CO2 and 5.6 l/100 km.

The best of both worlds

Wherever the destination, the All-New Kuga Plug-in Hybrid uses two sources of power to get you there more efficiently. An advanced electric powertrain lets you make shorter trips of up to 35miles on zero emissions††, and can recharge anywhere you have access to mains power. For longer journeys, the conventional combustion engine ensures you can go as far as you need to, using powersplit technology to help recharge the Hybrid battery as you drive. While energy captured through regenerative braking also helps to extend your electric range even further.

Kuga Plug-in Hybrid is available to order for 2021 delivery.

Unlock a world of connectivity

The All-New Kuga is now available with a built-in FordPass Connect*modem, bringing you a whole range of new features that elevate your journeys to the next level. Get 4G LTE Wi-Fi†† for up to ten devices, send destinations straight from your phone to your in-car navigation, and get real-time traffic updates‡‡ along the way. Advanced remote features let you control and monitor your All-New Kuga from wherever you are too; use your phone to locate your vehicle, lock and unlock the doors, and even start the engine remotely to warm up your car on cold days.

Flexible seating adapts to your needs

The All-New Kuga is designed to be ready for anything, with a dynamic new interior design that gives you ultimate freedom, and adapts to every journey. Need more boot-space for a big trip or prefer the luxury of extra leg-room in the back? Flexible rear seating slides forward or backward to suit your needs, so you have no trouble packing anything you need.

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.

A seamless blend of petrol and electric power

Kuga’s advanced Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) technology combines a battery-powered electric motor with a 2.5-litre Duratec petrol engine. The hybrid battery can be recharged at home or public charging stations. Energy recaptured while braking also helps charge the battery as you drive. Fully charged, the Kuga PHEV can drive up to 35miles†† on electric power alone, and a total hybrid driving range of up to 465miles.
