TECHNOLOGY THAT WORKS FOR YOU

Confidence in changeable conditions

An Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system can determine how much grip, cornering balance and responsiveness is required in wet, dry or icy conditions and on varying terrain. The technology is able to send drive to the front or rear axle depending on requirements. And this ‘torque on demand’ system delivers exceptional handling and improved efficiency.

Extra control during hill starts

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards (or forwards) when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2.5 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

Easier, safer reversing

Bollards, bicycles, low walls… The rear-view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console. As well as revealing objects you might miss, the system displays virtual lines to help you park into the smallest of spaces. The camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear.

Get the most out of your engine

The revolutionary 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Ford EcoBoost petrol engine is a six times winner of the International Engine of the Year award. And no wonder. With a choice of 100PS, 125PS and 140PS, you’ll enjoy all the exhilarating performance you’d expect from a conventional 1.6 engine, but also see around better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.

Advanced diesel power

The 1.5-litre Ford EcoBlue is a brand-new diesel engine and New EcoSport is the first vehicle to be powered by it. Its four cylinder, turbocharged, fuel injected technology can generate a potent 100PS and 125PS.

Use less fuel with Auto Start-Stop

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you’re ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or release the brake on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can really help cut fuel consumption.

Seamless technology you can control with your voice

Ford SYNC 3 is a state-of-the-art system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system with intuitive voice commands, or a colour touchscreen. It connects to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too, and with Applink, you can access some of your favourite smartphone apps. Live Traffic can also help you avoid the jams. And you can even call up a list of local restaurants just by saying “I’m hungry”, or access the Michelin Guide to help you choose and book places to eat.

It sounds live with B&O PLAY

Whatever your taste in music, it deserves to sound as the artist intended. And that’s exactly what you can expect in your New EcoSport. Why? Because it’s available with B&O PLAY. This premium level 675-watt audio system delivers a rich, powerful sound via a 10-speaker, woofer and subwoofer inclusive set-up. And this advanced technology has been specifically designed, developed and fine-tuned for the New EcoSport by B&O PLAY’s specialist acousticians. So turn it up and enjoy your favourite bands and songs in the concert hall that is your car’s cabin.

Wipers that automatically adjust to the rain

Rain-sensing wipers spring into action when they detect moisture on your windscreen, then adjust their speed to deal with whatever the weather throws at you. You can even choose from several sensitivity levels that determine how much moisture can build up before the wipers activate.

Advanced systems for more controlled braking

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution combine to ensure that your braking is effective.

Stay in control whatever the conditions

Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when a vehicle is losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.

Maximum grip with minimum effort

An advanced Traction Control System eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. The system constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip when you’re accelerating.
