FORD Tourneo Connect
Powerful performance Exceptional efficiency
Every feature and technology in the Tourneo Connect is there for a reason, and it’s all designed to make driving easier. Advanced technology can help you park and avoid obstacles, can respond automatically so you don’t have to worry about turning on headlights, or switching on wipers and can even display the speed limit you are in.
Sees the road signs you might miss
Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. An icon of that speed or a no-overtaking sign appears on the instrument cluster and changes every time you enter a new limit.
An advanced system to help you stay in your lane
A Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Alert then warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you’re slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering torque assistance to help guide you back into the right lane. The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 43mph or can be turned off manually.
Headlights that turn on automatically when needed
Automatic headlights use a sensor that detects failing light at dusk, or when there’s a sudden change in light conditions. This triggers the automatic headlights to turn themselves on, which can make driving both easier and safer.
Get the most out of your engine
The innovative 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Ford EcoBoost petrol engine gives you all the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6-litre engine (up to 100PS) whilst delivering around 24% better fuel economy and 25% lower CO2 emissions at just 129g/km. No wonder Ford EcoBoost has been awarded International Engine of the Year for the sub 1.0-litre category for a record five years in succession.
Powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engines
If you prefer to run diesel, you have the choice of two 1.5 litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engines each with a choice of manual or automatic transmission: 100PS with five-speed manual transmission or 6-speed ‘Powershift’ automatic transmission,120PS with six-speed manual or ‘Powershift’ automatic transmission. Fuel Economy and CO2 emissions on the 100PS model start from as low as 115g/km when fitted with the Fuel Economy pack.
Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop
When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you’re ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).
To help avoid low speed collisions
The innovative Active City Stop helps the driver avoid a collision in slow-moving traffic or at speeds up to 30mph. It does this by continually measuring the distance to the vehicle in front when it is within a near range. If the system detects the vehicle in front has unexpectedly reduced speed, it automatically applies the brakes..
Keeping your trailer safely in line
Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your vehicle’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.t.
As proof of its ability to protect you and your passengers, this vehicle has been awarded a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP.
