Confidence in changeable conditions
An available intelligent All-Wheel Drive system can determine how much grip, cornering balance and responsiveness is required in wet, dry or icy conditions and on varying terrain. The technology is intelligent, so it’s able to send drive to the front or rear axle depending on requirements. And by providing ‘torque on demand’, the system delivers exceptional handling and improved efficiency.
Sees what’s coming, from either side
A tiny and discreet camera, on the front of the vehicle relays a split screen image in your car’s 8” Touchscreen, so you can see vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians coming from either side. This optional new technology is invaluable if you’re edging out of a narrow parking space, or onto a busy road where your lateral view is obstructed.

Stress-free parking and pulling out
Using a combination of different technologies, Active Park Assist does more than steer you into parallel parking spots. With Park Out Assist, it helps you pull out of them, too. The Perpendicular Parking system can sense if there’s space for your car to fit, then reverse you in. Side Parking Aid also warns you if there are any lateral obstructions.
EcoBoost: no compromise power and efficiency
Two EcoBoost petrol engine options use a combination of direct fuel injection and turbo-charging, to deliver outstanding levels of performance and economy:
A new 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol engine adds to the revolutionary EcoBoost range, providing lower emissions and outstanding fuel economy of 6.5 litres/100km along with 160PS of power.
The 2.0 litre EcoBoost delivers an impressive 240PS. A specially tuned sound symposer also gives you the option to enjoy its distinctive engine note in the cabin, when you’re accelerating hard.
A range of diesel options
Prefer diesel? An advanced 2.0 TDCi gives you a choice of four power options: 120PS, 150PS, 180PS and a bi-turbo 210PS. Every engine incorporates the latest technology to improve power, torque and economy, while lowering emissions.
Paddle Shift: enjoy rapid gear changes on an automatic
Normally only found on high end sports cars, Automatic Paddle Shift Controls are available with both the 6-speed automatic and PowerShift transmissions. This racing-inspired technology puts swift, effortless gear changes at your fingertips. And because the paddle controls are mounted on the steering wheel, you can change gear more efficiently when cornering.
Seats that provide added support… and can give you a massage
New Multi-Contour seats are available for the driver and front passenger and the design makes them fully adjustable. As a result, they can provide added support where you need it and even offer you a massage, helping you stay fresh on long journeys. Multi-Contour seats are also available with climate control, so you can set your perfect temperature.
Helping to keep you inside the speed limit
Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) is designed to enhance your speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, the Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) camera automatically detects the current speed limit (when activated), then the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit.
Start your car with the touch of a button
Now there’s no need to use your key. Simply push the Ford Power Start Button while depressing the clutch pedal (or brake pedal on an automatic) and the engine fires into life.
Coordinated safety systems activate in a split-second
An advanced Intelligent Protection System coordinates a series of safety features, giving you and your passengers maximum protection. All New-Galaxy also has a rigid bodyshell that absorbs impact and advanced seat and seat belt technology, to reduce the chance of injury in the event of an accident.
Extra help when you’re reversing
An entirely new technology: detects approaching vehicles when drivers are reversing out of a space then sounds a warning and illuminates a light in the corresponding wing mirror.
Ford SYNC 2 with Emergency Assistance
An important aspect of Ford SYNC 2 is Ford Emergency Assistance*. This potentially life-saving feature is designed to assist you in placing an emergency call and can provide the emergency services with information about your vehicle’s location, in your own language. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious.
*Ford Emergency Assistance operates in over 30 European countries. This feature works when paired with a compatible connected mobile phone that is with you when an airbag is deployed (excludes knee airbags) or a sensor that registers a crash deactivates the fuel pump.
