Headlamps that help you see around bends

Using Ford Dynamic LED technology, the Mondeo’s headlamps aren’t just striking; they’re smart. That’s because they precisely follow the road as you turn the wheel, giving you outstanding visibility. They are also able to adjust the headlamps’ lighting pattern, depending on your speed, the environment and the conditions. Eight different modes include specific settings for when you’re driving on town roads, country lanes, motorways or in adverse weather.

Choose an advanced Sony DAB Navigation system with 12 hi-fidelity Sony speakers (optional on Titanium).

Easier reversing, as you can view what’s behind

Bollards, railings low walls… the optional rear view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console and activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The system also displays virtual guidelines, to help you park in the smallest of spaces. (only available with optional front and rear Parking Sensors or Active Park Assist).

EcoBoost: getting the most out of your engine

Three EcoBoost petrol engine options use a combination of direct fuel injection and turbo-charging, to deliver outstanding levels of performance and economy:
• At 125PS, the revolutionary (and multi award-winning) three cylinder 1.0 litre EcoBoost gives you all the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6 engine with around 25% better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions
• The new 1.5 litre EcoBoost produces 160PS with fuel economy of 5.9 litres/100km
• The 2.0 litre EcoBoost delivers an impressive 240PS, while a specially tuned sound symposer lets you enjoy its distinctive engine note in the cabin, when you’re accelerating hard.

A range of diesel options

Prefer diesel? Then choose from a range comprising of a 1.5 TDCi (available Q2 2015) and a 2.0 TDCi. All incorporate the latest engine technology to improve power, torque and economy, while lowering emissions. The 2.0 TDCi offers three power outputs, peaking at an impressive 210PS with a twin-turbo (available Q2 2015), whilst still achieving excellent economy and low emissions.

Ultra-efficient ECOnetic diesel versions

Both diesel engines are available in ECOnetic versions that deliver additional efficiencies. For example: 1.5TDCi ECOnetic (available Q2 2015) and 1.6TDCi ECOnetic with 94g CO2/km; and 2.0TDCi ECOnetic, 150PS from 107g CO2/km & 180PS with 115g CO2/km.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Extra protection for your rear passengers

The two rear outer seats can be fitted with a unique safety feature: a Rear Inflatable Seatbelt. In the event of an impact, the belts inflate and spread the crash forces over a five times larger area of the body than conventional seat belts. By reducing pressure on the chest and better controlling head and neck movement, this innovative technology can help reduce the likelihood of injury.

To help avoid low speed collisions, the car brakes for you

Collisions in stop-start, slow moving traffic happen all too frequently. Active City Stop is an advanced technology designed to help you avoid them, or at least reduce the impact. If the system detects the car in front has unexpectedly stopped, and you’re travelling at a speed of up to 40km/h, it automatically applies the brakes. As proof of its innovation, Active City Stop has been granted a Euro NCAP Advanced Award for safety.*

Ford SYNC 2 with Emergency Assistance

An important aspect of Ford SYNC 2 is Ford Emergency Assistance*. This potentially life-saving feature is designed to assist you in placing an emergency call and can provide the emergency services with information about your vehicle’s location, in your own language. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious.

This feature works when paired with a compatible connected mobile phone that is with you when an airbag is deployed (excludes knee airbags) or a sensor that registers a crash deactivates the fuel pump.
